Upcoming Event
Wednesday, June 10, 2020 - 1:00pm

This event will be streamed online as part of our Live @ Lunch! Series.

Join clinical psychologist and longtime Washington Post “Baggage Check” advice columnist Andrea Bonior, PhD, for this transformational event. Using techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness, Dr. Bonior will teach you to understand your thoughts–and your body–in a completely different way.

In a discussion of her new book, DETOX YOUR THOUGHTS: Quit Negative Self-Talk for Good and Discover the Life You’ve Always Wantedyou will learn to disempower and conquer self-sabotaging thoughts with specific and actionable steps.

Negative thoughts will never go away completely, especially in times like these, but Dr. Bonior will address the ten most common mental traps people fall into and how to break free of them. By changing the way you think, you can change the way your brain is wired. Learn how, through practice and habit, you can truly get those changes to stick.

Instead of a set ticket price, we ask that you contribute what you can to support Politics and Prose Bookstore and our virtual event series. We know that everyone has been affected in these trying times, and we will continue to make our programming accessible to all. That said, a suggested contribution of $5, $10, whatever you can afford, will go a long way to keep our programming—and our bookstore—afloat as we are forced to adapt to new ways of business.

You can also support us by purchasing a copy of the book from our website.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by such a loyal and engaged community and we thank you for your support, now and always.
