In the summer of 1987 Bug is ready to spend time at the beach with her brother but her neighbor’s nephew, Frankie, drastically changes her plans. Bug’s not too excited about hanging out with a kid she’s never met, but they soon find some common ground. And as the summer unfolds, they learn important lessons like how to be your true self and a good ally for others. Frankie & Bug explores how family is not always people you are related too, but also the people you choose to have around you.
